President Trump and the Republican Party - NAACP President Derrick Johnson, made the following statements:
Our primary focus at this moment is to ensure that our communities that have been victims of domestic terrorism and disproportionately impacted by this pandemic have the opportunity to cast their powerful vote come November.
We expect that this administration and those individuals who are aligned with it will do all they can to siphon off as many voters as possible, either by misdirecting who they vote for or suppressing their ability to cast a ballot."
I think stealing the election is a possibility, suppressing the vote is an absolute, and misleading voters is part of their strategy
Based on our focus groups and polling, many African Americans feel that our lives depend on the outcome of this election," "If [President Trump] is reelected, there is grave concern over the continuation of the stripping of the rights of many Americans, Black and white. Another term would completely strip our notion of democracy in ways in which we may not be able to recover.
Joe Biden and the Democratic PartyThe Obama-Biden Administration took actions to diversify American’s schools which were negated by the Trump-Pence Administration. Biden’s campaign website says the $300 million would be used to set up grants that departments across the country could apply for to hire more officers. In order to get a grant, the departments would have to hire officers that reflect the racial diversity of the community they serve.

Prior to the COVID-19 crisis, Black unemployment rates were near historic lows. Donald Trump signed legislation to establish Economic Opportunity Zones, which offer tax incentives to long-lasting investments in designated low-income areas in the United States. Joe Biden shepherded through the 1994 Crime Bill and helped strip the Bankruptcy Code’s protections of students in debt.
